Angelina: Keep Nursing Objects of Cultural Decentralization

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Members of Parliament, Angelina Sondakh, sees the need of decentralization of technical maintenance of historical objects to maintain the authenticity, durability, and safety, particularly the looting and illegal trade.

"Very probably there are technical decentralization care and maintenance of cultural heritage objects," said Democratic Party faction member Parliament was told ANTARA here on Monday.

Therefore, Angelina back his proposals put forward relating to the revision of Law No. 5 Year 1992 on Objects of Cultural.

According to him, the existence of the Law No.5/1992 shall be able to answer the challenges of the future, especially in relation to rescue historical relics, whether for its history, tourism, as well as local and national interests.

"Objects of Cultural Revision Act needs to be done in line with the many archaeological sites found in various areas," he said.

Alluding again a matter of decentralization, Angelina Sondakh suggest regions should prepare human resources to master the technical maintenance of these ancient objects.

"It requires special expertise and technical needs," he asserted.

Beijing (ANTARA News / Reuters) - China plans to recruit 6.5 million people to conduct a census once a decade in the most densely populated countries in the world, the official Xinhua news agency said Sunday.

Local officials, most of whom are responsible for counting the soul before, too busy to do the census, Xinhua reported, quoting a senior official statistics.

Most of the tellers, who will work for about one to two months, collecting data between 250 to 300 people, will be the local residents in the areas they survey, said Nailin Feng, head of population and employment statistics of the National Statistics Bureau.

The previous census in 2000 showed China has a population of more than 1.29 billion. Employ specialized staff to conduct this census was meant to finance with the more significant, said Feng.
