Anas: This Democrat Victory

Bandung (ANTARA) - Anas Urbaningrum, the newly elected General Chairman of the Central Executive Council of the Democratic Party in the vote in West Bandung declare that victory is the victory of the Democratic Party.

"This is a victory for Democrats. Mr. Marzuki Alie and Pak Andi Mallarangeng is our friend, they both are the best cadre of Democrats. This is a victory for Democrats, and we will continue with the advance party," he told reporters moments after the vote that won him Democrats in Congress II in Kota Baru Parahyangan, Padalarang, West Bandung, Sunday night.

The second round of voting results shows, Anas Urbaningrum won 280 votes or 53 percent, Marzuki Alie superior than who won 248 votes or 47 percent. A total of two votes otherwise damaged so that the total votes of 530 votes.

According to Anas, he was grateful for all participants at the congress to succeed the chairman of the congress, especially in a democratic election.

"It shows the Democrats could very well be democratic," he said.

While Marzuki Alie and Andi Mallarangeng after direct elections congratulate Anas.

Both of them even declared his support for a new chairman and believe that Anas will be able to carry out its mandate well in order to bring the Democrats to be better again.
