Falling Korean Jet, Two People Killed
Liputan6.com, Seoul: An F-5 fighter jet owned by Air Force in South Korea fell into the waters off the west coast of the country, Friday (18 / 6). This plane crash killed two pilots. Thus declared the South Korean Air Force.
Fighter aircraft took off at 9:43 pm local time. However, this plane disappeared about 10:33 pm local time near a base in the coastal city of Gangneung, Korea north of the capital, Seoul. At that time the jet fighter was on his way back from a routine training mission.
Search operation was immediately performed. Several helicopters and patrol boats sent by the Air Force and Coast Guard to the crash site. Fruitful results of operations, the bodies of the two pilots were found a few moments later.
One of them was found entwined in some open parachute. Meanwhile, other pilots thought to have died after receiving injuries from parachute cord.
The fuselage is destroyed also found scattered in the waters. Some experts say there is evidence which shows the two pilots are trying to save themselves from the fateful plane using the injection system. Thus, the likelihood of technical errors.
