Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA News / Reuters) - The official Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will fiercely defend the Brunei so as not excluded from membership of FIFA.
Brunei Football Association (BAFA) previously been sentenced to suspension by the world organization's top football because of government intervention and the AFC worried that FIFA will actually remove from BAFA membership.
"It is unfortunate if any one of our members in the AFC must be removed," said Junji Ogura, a member of the executive agency was quoted as saying the AFC official site www.the-afc.com).
"If that happens, then this is for the first for Asia. We still have a few months to prevent it," said the man was from Japan.
FIFA has warned that BAFA be expelled from Fifa after the organization was disbanded by the government since December 2008 and BAFA hoping their presence might again be recognized before the FIFA congress in South Africa in June.
AFC president Mohamed Bin Hammam said the AFC officials could not solve the problem despite several football officials met Brunei.
Last conversation before the FIFA decision is dropped, planned before the June deadline, while the AFC also wants Fifa delay any decision prior to any further discussion.
