Economy Grew 5.5 Percent Quarter I 2010

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati estimates that during the quarter I 2010, Indonesia's economy will experience growth of about 5,3-5,5 percent.

"If we see from the second week of January until March, gross domestic product (GDP) is still above 5 percent, dikisaran 5,3-5,5 per cent," she said after delivering a notice (SPT) Annual Personal Income Tax Tax Year 2009 by President Yudhoyono and Vice President Boediono and some state officials at the Directorate General of Taxes Office Jakarta, Wednesday.

According to the Ministry of Finance, in 2010 this wal investment is recovering in which the investment is higher in comparison with the same period the previous year.

According to him, the possibility of experiencing GDP growth above 5.5 percent was too wide open. "Maybe interest rates in developed countries, although there kecenderuan increased, but to this day remains stepnya, so Q1 is very strong growth momentum in the Asian region including us," he said.

However, the Finance Minister said that the government has not changed the assumption that economic growth remains 5.5 percent. "We still use the 5.5 per cent," said Sri Mulyani.
