Allocate Government Infrastructure Development Fund "Broadband"
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Coordinating Minister for Economic Hatta Rajasa said the government plans to allocate funds from the state budget to build a broadband telecommunications network (broadband). However, in what amounts, Hatta did not disclose.
"Broadband is important, so do not be ignored because of broadband that was the foundation of all networks," said Hatta in Jakarta, Thursday (8/4/2010).
He acknowledged that the government has not been able to budget funds for the construction of a broadband telecommunications networks in large numbers. However, according to him, with the allocation of government and it will be able to shape its own incentive for business people engaged in it.
Hatta said the allocation of funds from the state budget will continue to be cultivated, although not directly in large numbers, in addition it also pursue the establishment of the ICT Fund to help finance the construction of telecommunications infrastructure.
The involvement of the business world in the development of broadband networks is necessary because the government is not likely to build their own backbone because requires huge investment. Therefore, the government asked private sector also made various efforts to support, among them the notice provision of last mile network to be connected to the network backbone Ring so that development can provide significant benefits.
"Last mile is the essential constructed by the provider Ring so worthwhile. Just like building a MRT, if there is no bus pengumpannya the Palapa Ring will be useless," he asserted.
