Cagliari coach Allegri Fire

Rome (ANTARA News / Reuters) - Serie A club Cagliari made a surprise move Tuesday sacked as coach Massimiliano Allegri, one of the most promising coach in Italian football.

"Cagliari announced that they had been dismissed from his position Massimiliano Allegri," the statement in the club pages (www.cagliaricalcio.net).

"Coach Academy Giorgio Melis will occupy the position," he declared.

Allegri get a treat it was after Cagliari lost in seven games and drew twice in the ninth game of their competition.

Termination was not expected, but the team that Sardinia is only nine points from the relegation zone in 12th position with five matches remaining.

Allegri was awarded the "Golden Bench" Italy in February and then after elected as the best coach of Serie A by beating Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho.
