Jakarta (SIB)
Secretary General of the Association of Indonesian Exporters (GPEI), Toto Dirgantoro, said the unrest in the vicinity of Tanjung Priok Port, which happened Wednesday (14 / 4) morning till midnight had caused a loss of about Rp6-9 billion per day due to inhibition of transport of goods.
"For total loss does not exist, but with retention of transportation, then the losses during a single day ranged from Rp6-9 billion," Toto said in Jakarta on Thursday.
Toto estimate the losses to the exporters will be even greater considering Hoarding Container (TPK) Koja is still blocked and Customs has yet to approve the inspection process peli Boxed (be-handle).
"For the loss due to the retention of export has not been recorded, but surely all the impact," he said.
Toto confessed to worry if the condition is still going on until tomorrow, Friday (16 / 5), then not only exporters but also shipping companies that will suffer losses.
"It's an expensive lesson for the public and officials to act sensibly and wisely so that this condition will not recur," he said. (Ant / n)
