Medvedev's anti-terror Holds Discussion

Liputan6.com, North Kaukakus: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had traveled to North Caucasus, in order to conduct anti-terror talks with regional leaders. This was done in response to the bombing of the subway which killed 39 people in Moscow, a few days ago.

Medvedev Visits This seems intended to emphasize his resolve against terrorism and reducing public disquiet over attacks that bombard the Russians in recent years. Medvedev held a meeting in the Republic of Dagestan on Thursday (1 / 4), one day after the Islamic militant group based in the North Caucasus claimed responsibility for the attack last Monday.

Doku Umarov, leader of the militant, also issued a warning in a video posted on an internet site. He said the bombing was in revenge for the massacre of civilians by Russian security forces in the North Caucasus region [read: Militants Claim Responsibility bombings in Moscow].

While tensions have not abated, Russia again rocked by an earthquake on Wednesday (31 / 3). This earthquake resulted 12th person killed, including policemen. (AST / ANS / NHK)
