Two Fighter Jet Colliding Belarus
Moscow (ANTARA News / Xinhua-Oana) - Two fighter jets MiG-29 type Belarus Air Force collided in midair on Wednesday night, but no casualties were injured in the incident, the Russian news agency Interfax reported Thursday.
One plane went down and could not continue the flight, said a source from the Ministry of Defence of Belarus.
"Two fighter jets collided during a difficult maneuver on 21 April at 20:15 local time," the source said.
One of the plane's pilot tried to land the aircraft in the area is not densely populated, and pilots of other aircraft successfully landed the plane at the airport air force base.
Authorities are investigating the causes of the accident.
In August, two Russian aircraft from aerobatik team "Russian Knights" also collided during training near Moscow air show acrobatics.
The team commander, Igor Tkachenko, was killed and two pilots and five civilians suffered injuries in the incident.
