Former German goalkeeper Lehmann End Career At Age 40 Years

Berlin (ANTARA News / Reuters) - Former Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann to end 22-year career in football on Saturday, when he appeared in the final game of the German premier league this season along with VfB Stuttgart, where his team a 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim.

Goalkeepers are now aged 40 years in total has 394 major league play in Germany (Bundesliga) that, started his professional career with Schalke 04 in 1988 and won the UEFA Cup in 1997 with the club.

"At this point it is difficult to show what I feel, there is great emotion on the field at ii days," said Lehmann.

Controversial goalkeeper Lehmann, who won the English premier league title while playing for Arsenal, starting in 2003 until 2008 was returned to Germany to play together in Stuttgart two seasons ago.
