Mall fire gained momentum Citraland
Semarang (ANTARA) - A fire in Citraland Mall, the city of Semarang, Central Java, gained momentum Sunday afternoon, and yet managed to extinguished the flames.
Fire is known at 12:45 o'clock am, and flames had gained momentum, as dozens of firefighters had difficulty to put it out, although it has deployed at least four units of trucks.
Officers later brought two truck units are equipped with automatic ladder to reach the scene of the fire which was in the second floor.
One employee of a shoe store Handoko said the fire was first known from the Gunung Agung bookstore.
"Knowing that I along with some other employees tried to come home from fire but decided because of thick smoke immediately filled the room enough malls," he said.
According to witnesses, the fire appeared allegedly originated from electric short circuiting.
Until now there has been no official statement from the manager of the mall or the police about the fire at the Mall Citraland.
Traffic flow around the site had to be closed and diverted to avoid congestion caused by the many citizens who want to watch the fire.
