Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of the New Hungary

Budapest, KOMPAS.com - Parliament of Hungary, Saturday (29/05/2010), endorsed the new government leadership of Viktor Orbán. Pertai Chairman of Fidesz was also sworn in as prime minister on the same day. Orbán oath-taking took place in the presence of 261 MPs. Parliament also endorsed a work program Orbán government.

Viktor Orbán as prime minister nominated by President László Sólyom on May 14 following the conservative Fidesz party a landslide victory in parliamentary elections last April.

The center-right Fidesz party won 263 of 386 parliamentary seats in these elections. Thanks to these victories, two-thirds vote in legislative support elected Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Support parliamentary majority was enough to help him realize the fundamental changes and amendments to the constitution. The country's new Cabinet ministers sworn in Saturday afternoon.
