13 Killed in Mexico Drug Related

MEXICO CITY, Kompas.com - Thirteen people were killed around the Acapulco beach resort area on Saturday (13/3/10) morning local time. The victim was a result of violence that seems related drugs.

According to security officials, five of those killed were police officers, who patrol at night. They were attacked by several gunmen on the outskirts of Acapulco, a resort on the Pacific Ocean, known for its tourists.

Other bodies of eight people found in a pathetic condition because there are holes pierced by bullets. They are found in several different places around Acapulco, and four of them beheaded.

Indeed, Mexico is trying to crush drug gangs in the country. Mexican President Felipe Calderon risked his position for that purpose.

Since he took power in 2006, has about 19,000 people are killed by drug gang war. Therefore, the government mobilized 45,000 soldiers and federal police to put it down.
