Australian Government Investment Act in Eastern Indonesia
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The government will work jointly with the Australian government is focused on food and energy fields in eastern Indonesia.
"Australia wants to develop relationships not only government to government, but also people to people more context to eliminate the stereotype that has been less well on Indonesia," said Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa in his office, when he confirmed the results of his official trip to Australia last week, Monday (15/3/2010).
Hatta said the Indonesian government will invite Australia to invest in six provinces. The six provinces in question are of Papua, West Papua, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), the Moluccas, and Bali. "I immediately requested a meeting with the governor about the relevant subregional, regional between Indo-Aussie, especially the east, the focus on food and energy," he explained.
Later, the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) will explore this investment plan. The agenda for the discussion of investment is planned to be carried out in June. "The talks should be in-follow-up and will be included in the agenda of a joint commission working group that will be done in June," he said.
Previously, there were five big companies from Australia, which has said it will develop its business with a value of 1 billion U.S. dollars in Indonesia. Five companies are Coca-Cola Amatil, Commonwealth Bank, Thiess, Ramsay Health, and AIBC.
"That's what will didalami by BKPM, but it was mentioned at that time, Coca-Cola and Thiess and several other companies over 1 billion U.S. dollars for expansion," he said.
