Sore Rupiah Menguat
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Kurs rupiah against the U.S. dollar in the Jakarta interbank spot market on Monday (15/3/2010) afternoon, up 25 points to USD 9155-USD 9165 per U.S. dollar compared to the previous day's closing, USD 9180-USD 9190, because the perpetrators are still buying dollars even though the volume is reduced.
Retail Banking Director of PT Bank Mega Tbk Kostaman Thayib in Jakarta on Monday, said that the rupiah is still going up because the sentiment is still posiif approach. "However, the increase is somewhat less than before because some market participants had already left the market welcomed the day off tomorrow," he said.
Kostaman Thayib said market activity was reduced so that an increase in the rupiah slightly smaller than the previous trade. "However, we are optimistic that the rupiah continues to strengthen until close to USD 9100 per U.S. dollar," he said.
Rupiah thought throughout this week will likely range between Rp 9150 and Rp 9175 per U.S. dollar. "Positive factor that still supports it will bring Indonesia's currency to a better level," he said.
