Roy Marten Prisoners Could Expect Productive in Prison

Actor Roy Marten had twice went to prison. As an ex-con, Roy had a concern about prison conditions in Indonesia.

Roy, who is also Vice Chairman of the Prisoners Center, an NGO that cares about the fate of the former prisoners, hoping the government can make Penitentiary (LP) for the better. One of them by way of designing programs that make the inmates can be more productive.

"We provide advice and feedback to implement a productive prison to produce and the results can to support the prisoner's own and his family," Roy said when met after a dialogue with human rights Menkum, Patrialis Akbar, in the office of Human Rights Depkum, Jl Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Thursday (25/3/2010) evening.

Roy with a number of former prisoners who are also officials Prisoners Center, Menkum meet to discuss human rights conditions in Indonesia LP increasingly alarming. Number of Prisoners LP capacity is not comparable.

Also prisoners are languishing in prison are not given a productive activity. So many convict who returns falling into crime after leaving prison.
