President Zuma Calls for Calm After Murder Terreblanche
Johannesburg, South Africa, 4 / 4 (AFP / Reuters) - South African President Jacob Zuma called for calm Sunday after the murder of a white leader Eugene Tereblanche, and said the killings should not encourage racial hatred.
"The president asked for calm after the horrible berbuatan and ask the people of South Africa to not allow the agent provocateurs to take advantage of this situation by instigating or fomenting racial hatred," his office said in a statement reported by news agency Sapa.
Terreblanche, leader of the Afrikaner Resistance Movement-far-right wing, was killed at his plantation in northwestern South Africa because of alleged disputes with workers about unpaid wages on Saturday night.
