Ecuador Indigenous Citizens Reject Law on Water

Liputan6.com, Quito: Clashes between indigenous people and police broke out in Quito, Ecuador, Thursday (6 / 5) local time. Police forced to act in repressive actions against protesters of the Confederation of Indigenous Peoples or CONAIE who insist on entry to the Houses of Parliament.

Apparatus that is difficult to control the masses finally fired tear gas. But instead of self membubaarkan, protesters continue to seek ways to break into the Houses of Parliament.

Protesters intend to fail validation event legislation governing water resources by members of Parliament. In its action, mass Raffael Correa also urged the President to reject the new rules which they value highly detrimental to the local natives. (FRI)
