Key Party Against South Africa for Uruguay

Montevideo (ANTARA News / Reuters) - Uruguay to host the game against South Africa which is crucial to qualifying for the next round, said Oscar Washington Tabarez, Uruguay coach.

Uruguay in Group A will perform their opening match against France in Cape Town on 11 June, five days after that meeting that took place in South Africa in Pretoria.

"The first match is the most important because they affect the team in preparation for the next game," said Tabarez.

"But the game is the second decisive," he told the daily Ultimas Tabarez information Notocias in an interview published last Monday.

"We must focus our minds and prepare themselves well to try and play well in that game," he said.

Tabarez will call 30 players on 11 May.

World Cup tournament, will open with a match between hosts South Africa by Mexico, on June 11 next.
