Russia sent home four Iranian Immigrants

Vladivostok (AFP / RIA-Novosti Oana) - Russia return four Iranians who try to sneak in Russia with the aim of Japanese ships, said an official spokesman for the border guards in Russia's Far East, Thursday.

"Iranian citizens were arrested at the port of Vladivostok on May 3. They try to sneak illegally into Russia's ships are ready to leave the port on the way to Japan," said the official.

According to initial investigations, the Iranian citizens arriving in Russia legally through Moscow, and traveled by train to Vladivostok.

They did not sign up at the local immigration office and planned to sneak into the Russian ships to get to Japan.

On May 4, one district court has sentenced a fine of 2000 rubles each (67 U.S. dollars) to some strangers, and deport them to Iran.

The official said, this is the first against the detention of illegal immigrants Iran in the Russian Far East in 2010.

In 2009, Russian border guard forces arrested 25 Iranians who tried to travel illegally to Japan from the two ports in the Russian Far East.

"Eleven Iranians have been deported and some other immigrants promised to return voluntarily to Iran at their own expense," the spokesman said.
