Scolari Ready to Leave Uzbekistan Clubs
Curitiba, Brazil (AFP / Reuters) - Former Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari will leave Uzbekistan club Bunyodkor and will train in their country or in Europe, the coach said Monday.
Scolari told the club's charge to reduce their budget expenditures so that should end the new contract will expire next December.
"When you've reached agreement, I am free to decide my future," said Scolari told Reuters in a telephone interview from Tashkent.
"When the club was in Europe, should be a good club, who are fighting to win, not for fourth place," he said.
"Or I go back to Brazil. I've melanglangbuana for seven years," said Scolari, who won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil and led Portugal to the Euro 2004 final and 2006 World Cup semi-final.
Scolari to join Bunyodkor for one year, attracted by the country's soccer project includes improving standards of football in Central Asia region.
