Football - Quality Must Pay Indemnity 20.7 Million U.S. Dollars to Chelsea

Zurich (ANTARA News / Reuters) - Romania striker Adrian Mutu was ordered home by the Swiss federal court to pay a fine of 17 million euros (20.7 million U.S. dollars) to former club Chelsea for cocaine possession case six years ago.

In July of 2009, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) based in the Swiss Quality hear the case and ordered 31-year-old striker to pay compensation to Chelsea.

Top Quality appealed this decision to the Supreme court which then temporarily postpone this case until October 2009.

But in a statement released on Monday, the court decided to deny Adrian Mutu appeal against the decision made by the CAS.

Quality currently plays for Fiorentina, but was rested until 29 November by his club because once again proved to consume illicit goods.

A spokesman for Chelsea so far has not commented on the recent court decision against Quality.
