Israeli Cabinet Supports Inquiry Panel
JERUSALEM, KOMPAS.com - The Israeli cabinet on Monday (6/14/2010) supports the formation of an internal committee that would investigate the raid on Gaza purpose aid convoy that killed nine activists, said one source in the office of prime minister.
"Cabinet unanimously supported the establishment of the commission," the source told AFP.
Formation of the committee, which will include two foreign observers, it was announced late on Sunday night by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the cabinet voted to confirm the move.
The Committee will be chaired by retired judge Yaakov Tirkel Supreme court will conduct an internal investigation on the legal aspects of operations May 31 by the Israeli navy, which killed nine Turkish activists and injuring dozens of people.
