Julia Gillard became the first woman to become Australia's first Prime Minister, after Kevin Rudd put his post as prime minister and leader of the Labour Party. "Rudd and the Labor Party has been facing tough times," Forshaw said. "He led us to victory in 2007, earned the victory when many people thought we would still be many more years so the opposition."
Forshaw said the new team was waiting for the next elections with confidence. He said, Gillard is expected to reach 74 of the 112 Labor Party caucus vote.
Women aged 48 would not face competition against Rudd. The former prime minister resigned after losing the support of important leaders of the factions. Setbacks also indicated support for the related poll result serious policy changes, including a retreat in the design of carbon trading to fight climate change.
