Jero Wacik: Culture Nation unifying tool

Palembang (AFP) - Minister of Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik said the culture of the nation could become a unifying tool, because through the communal culture of the community will be more familiar.

"To that end, each region needs to reproduce the carnival culture, because these activities can strengthen national unity," he said in the release of carnival culture XIX Sriwijaya Festival welcomes the Year 2010, in Kilkenny, Wednesday.

Carnival culture that followed 15 counties and the city, is a series of activities Sriwijaya Festival held every year.

In the release of the cultural carnival was also held various aktrasi culture and traditional arts of the 15 counties and cities in South Sumatra.

South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin said the carnival was held as a series of cultural activities as well as celebrate the Festival Sriwijaya Palembang in June 2010.

"The upcoming carnival culture and Sriwijaya Festival will be held in November 2011, coinciding with the opening of the SEA Games," he said.
