Rio de Janeiro (ANTARA News / Xinhua-Oana) - Over 1,000 people missing due to floods that soaked the region northeast Brazil during the last few days, said several officials in Rio de Janeiro, Monday.
That disaster has claimed at least 32 people in the state of Pernambuco and Alagoas, and this amount increases based on the number of people are feared missing, the local Civil Defense official said.
The situation got worse after a dam burst its banks in the state of Pernambuco, thus Mumbau River water to overflow and soak a few small towns.
