Weather and PICU Speculator Price Increase
Liputan6.com, Ambon: Prices of basic needs in some areas continues to rise. In Ambon, Maluku, price increases occurred in nearly all major commodity. The biggest increase occurred in the vegetables. Carrots and potatoes are now being sold at a price of Rp 15 thousand per kilogram from the previous price of USD 10 thousand, two weeks ago.
In addition to vegetables, the increase also occurs in the prices of other staples such as rice. Rice with golden boy and wasp species sold for Rp 10 thousand per kilogram.
The price increase also occurred in West Sulawesi. Red pepper and red onion carrying achieve the highest price increases. Both commodities are now sold at USD 50 thousand and USD 30 thousand per kilogram. Yet two weeks ago, red chillies and onions disposed of by the price of USD 12 thousand and 16 thousand.
