Former boss Dubai Suspicion of Corruption

DUBAI, KOMPAS.com - A former Governor of Dubai International Financial Center or DIFC is being questioned over alleged cases of sucking funds from the public, as the ruler of the emirate's office, Wednesday (24/3/2010). Said, Omar bin Suleiman was being questioned by the public prosecutor's office on charges of DIFC management, where he was governor until last November.

Suleiman suspected illegal bonuses to his total of 50 million dirhams (about 14 million U.S. dollars), it was said in a statement. Also speaking, the former governor was now in custody, without giving the date of his arrest.
