Three Caribbean Jurisdiction Tax Treaty signed
PARIS, KOMPAS.com - Three jurisdiction of the Caribbean, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Anguilla, now meet the standards of internationally agreed on exchange of tax information, the OECD said on Wednesday (24/3/2010).
Saint Kitts and Nevis and Saint Vincent Grenadines andn is the island country, while Anguilla is a British overseas territory.
Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said the entity has signed a total of 14 tax information exchange agreements with other countries and is now considered to have "substantial implementation" of a standard international reporting.
Standard, developed by the OECD in 2002, designed to combat harmful tax practices by tax data sharing between the nations. "We continue to see a lot of progress since the jurisdiction moved to sign the agreement," said Jeffrey Owens, head of tax policy center and administrative OECD .
"In Anguilla, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is now reaching this benchmark, almost all Caribbean jurisdictions have substantially implemented the standard, and we will work denganyurisdiksi left - both in the Caribbean and elsewhere - to encourage them to follow this trend . "
