Jakob: Print Media Still Remain Eksis
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Although beaten by the electronic media, both television and sophistication of internet media, print media still exist today. This general acknowledged Jakob Oetama Kompas in Jakarta, Saturday (27/3/2010). According to Jakob, the print media would not be abandoned by readers as full of intellect.
"The print media provide a space of time to think critically. It was developed civilization, culture, and science because there is no writing letters," said Jakob.
In many countries in the world, print media still exist, such as print media in India, whose sales remain off. Similarly, in China the print media are still much in demand by the public.
In Japan, the print media and electronic media occupies a large portion of the same. "In Japan it was 50:50. The print media is still high, but also strong electronic phenomenon. In Indonesia, the print media is still, but the role of electronic media's position is getting stronger," he said.
