Activist and Son Killed Sparatis
Aden, KOMPAS.com - A separatist activist and his son were shot dead on their farms, while gunmen killed a soldier on a police post in southern Yemen, said witnesses and the media, Monday (5/4/2010).
Sahwa news website, said bin Naji Naji activists and young son, Saleh, were murdered at their farm near Dalea. "One suspect has been arrested in the attack," said the eyewitness.
Another site quotes a resident said, the killer of a local security forces. "Clashes between armed citizens by security forces occurred in the north Dalea after the murder," he said.
"In the south, armed men shot dead a Yemeni soldiers guarding a police station in Shabwa province," said the local media and eyewitnesses.
Violence in southern Yemen increased in recent time was when separatist protesting against the administration of President Ali Abdullah Saleh who clashed with security forces killed three policemen and five protestors.
Tensions rose in southern Yemen after a protester was shot dead the police on February 13.
The incident sparked riots in which the separatists set fire to shops owned by people north and attempted to blockade a main road.
