Over Hundred Mine Workers Back Been Saved
Liputan6.com, Beijing: The efforts of rescue teams at a coal mine in northern China Wangjialing, increasingly fruitless. Earlier, nine people were rescued from a flooded mine. Monday (5 / 4), a total of 115 coal miners in Shanxi Province, returned safely, after a week trapped in an underground flood. Meanwhile, Xinhua News Agency launched, there may be survivors who are still trapped in the mine [read: Stuck Week Flood, Nine Chinese Miner Good].
Until now, rescue teams continued to remove water from the tunnel with pump. The incident occurred on March 28 last, when water from a tunnel was suddenly flooded the area up to 153 mine workers trapped underground. President Hu Jintao has called for an all-out efforts to rescue the workers who are still trapped.
Coal is China's energy needs by 70 percent. However, most of the coal mine owners simply prioritizing profits rather than safety measures which cause frequent accidents. For example last year, more than 2,600 coal miners died because of lack of safety. (AST / ANS / Xinhua)
