Bad weather, Declining Fish Supply
Liputan6.com, Donegal: Inclement weather accompanied by high winds since last week to make hundreds of fishermen in Pedes, Karawang, West Java, on Tuesday (6 / 4), can not go to sea. The fishermen can only rely on his boat on the beach. Their activities were turned into mere repair of ships and fish capture equipment.
Though forced to sea, the fishermen were only on the beach. This had an impact with a minimal supply of fish to market. Cessation of fishing activity this makes them difficult to meet the needs of their everyday lives. "If it was to get the results from fishing, the results were sold for USD 50 thousand. Meanwhile, operating expenses amounted to USD 150 thousand," says Samad, one of the Fisherman.
Scarcity of supply of fish in the Pedes no doubt make the fish in place of the auction price skyrocketed to Rp 2,000 per kilo. This price is valid for every type of fish, it was the size of fish which arguably small. (ASW / Job)
