China-Indonesia Joint Boost

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Meeting of Joint Commission (Joint Commission Meeting / JCM) between the Government of Indonesia and China took place on Saturday (3/4/2010) at the Hotel Sheraton. In that event, the Minister of Trade Mari Elka Pangestu and Minister of Commerce of China Chen Deming, reached some agreements in terms of investment, financial cooperation, and development of the core must be mutually beneficial.

There are a number of agreements, for example, China agreed to facilitate market access for some tropical fruit from Indonesia, such as banana, pineapple, and rambutan, also swallow nest in order to enter the China market.

The two countries also agreed on forming a working group to facilitate the resolution of trade in the current trade. At the request of Indonesia, the delegation of China approved the opening of Bank Mandiri branches in China, which will strengthen the direct relationship banking transactions both countries.

Also signed Agreed Minutes of the Meeting for Further Strengthening Economic and Trade Cooperation, which deals with steps to resolve the problems faced by certain sectors in Indonesia affected by the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA).
