Thai protesters detained Army Exempt
Bangkok, 12 / 4 (AFP) - The Thai anti-government protesters freed one group of soldiers who were taken hostage in Bangkok in bloody clashes in the capital last weekend, said a spokesman olisi, Monday.
Maj. Gen. Pol. Sangprapai Vichai said he is directly seek the liberation of the soldiers, Sunday.
"I guarantee the liberation of all four soldiers in a protest at Phan Fa Bridge," said Vichai told AFP.
"They said they mingle in a chaotic mass of Red Shirt and the group does not believe in these soldiers so that they are holding the soldiers'" he said.
At first there were seven soldiers were arrested, but three managed to melarikn themselves, Saturday night, Vichai added.
Clashes in the streets on Saturday in Bangkok city center killed 17 civilians and four soldiers, with more than 800 people were injured - the highest political unrest caused many casualties in nearly two decades.
The violence erupted when security forces tried to oust them from two locations in the center of the capital that was occupied for a month by protesters loyal to former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
