Biggest Oil Products Sumatra Plantation Commodities

Padang (ANTARA) - Palm oil is still the biggest commodity crops of West Sumatra with a production during 2009 reached 795 450 tons.

Palm oil production of West Sumatra (Sumatra) has continued to increase in the last five years, and became a major export commodity seed this area, the governor said West Sumatra, Marlis Rahman in Padang, Tuesday.

He said oil production in 2009 as many as 795 450 tonnes of West Sumatra's production increased from 794 167 tonnes recorded in 2008.

Earlier in 2005, a new palm oil production reached 715 873 tonnes of West Sumatra, and then increased to 731 247 tons in 2006 and again increased in 2007 to 771 406 tonnes.

Furthermore, increased to 794.167 tons in 2008 and again rose in 2009 to 795 450 tonnes, he added.

Furthermore, Marlis said, after the Sumatra oil palm plantation commodity production is the second largest rubber reached 103 993 tons in 2009, increased slightly from 103 880 tonnes the previous year.

The third largest production, namely coconut reach 82 748 tonnes, followed by 40 988 tonnes of cocoa, cinnamon 37 499 tonnes, 16 720 tonnes of Arabica coffee, gambier 13 955 tonnes, 4655 tonnes of areca nut and clove 1 760 tonnes.
