Peru hit by 5.9 Richter quake
Liputan6.com, Washington, DC: An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale shook southern Peru on Sunday (23 / 5) local time. Based on the information the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in Washington DC, United States, the epicenter was about 82 kilometers in the south of Ayacucho, Peru.
If viewed from the location of the capital city of Peru, Lima, the epicenter is about 356 kilometers. "The quake's epicenter at a depth of 110 kilometers," said the USGS. However, so far, there has been no report regarding the damage the earthquake.
