JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Events meeting the largest member of the BlackBerry user community in Indonesia, id-BlackBerry, along Kompas.com, Saturday (5/22/2010) at Huis Menteng, Jakarta, was flooded with gifts.

Community members who attend get a number of lottery prizes ranging from T-shirts, bags, tickets to watch at the XXI, compass newspaper subscriptions for a year, until the grand prize in the form of Kompas.com BlackBerry Onyx.

"This gathering once a year, because we all Indonesia, are not easy to gather people, so that comes most 100 to 150 people," said chief organizer of the gathering, Dwi Mala.

The id-BlackBerry community formed since 2005 and currently reaches 6,500 members. "At the beginning of the 25 people, from mouth to mouth, through mailing lists, up to 6500 people today. This is the first and largest community of BlackBerry in Indonesia," added Mala.

Community members joined in the mailing list address id-BlackBerry-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. In addition to gathering, community members held a mini-gathering, or routine communication via chat.
