Preserve Sevilla Alvarez Season As Coach Home
Madrid (ANTARA News / Reuters) - Sevilla has decided to retain Antonio Alvarez as head coach next season, La Liga club said it was through their pages (www.sevillafc.es), Tuesday.
Alvarez signed in March to replace padaakhir Manolo Jimenez for the last 10 games and helped the club to ensure a place in Andalucia's Champions League qualifying round next season.
He also led the team's victory over Atletico Madrid in the King's Cup final.
Sevilla board has chosen unanimously to extend the contract's 55-year-old coach until the end of next season, the club said.
Alvarez had previously been an assistant coach under former Sevilla boss Juande Ramos and Joaquin Caparros.
