Contracting HIV from needle Acupuncture

Kompas.com - The Government of Switzerland is currently investigating cases related to HIV transmission is performed intentionally by an acupuncturist for 15 patients.

The shocking case made the news the most widely promoted by the Swiss media after a local tabloid, Blick, reported that the government did not take any action since the first report five years ago.

The Government of Switzerland through his spokesman Hermann Fleischhackl said, the investigation has been conducted since the first victim complained his case in 2005.

Until now there are 19 people infected with HIV who never make contact with acupuncturists are unidentified. HIV transmission is believed to have occurred between 2001 and 2005.

"As many as 15 victims believe they can get HIV infection from a suspect. The four other victims, has no known cause or not associated with the suspect," he said as quoted Fleischhackl The Associated Press.

Swiss newspapers say, the victims claimed they had been injected with blood that had been infected with the HIV virus. However, Fleischhackl declined to comment about it and said the cause of transmission is still in the process of investigation.
