Hospital Patients Reject Poor Reproduction
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Agung Laksono again reminds all hospitals in Indonesia in order not to deny poor patients.
"Hospitals can not deny poor patients," said Agung Laksono at the opening of the 4th National Conference Regional Hospital Association All Indonesia (ARSADA), in Jakarta, Wednesday (16/06/2010).
According to him, hospital patients should not be rejected simply because they have no down payment. In fact, he said, he expects the best health care provided by hospitals to those who can not afford. "Especially now there have been people from the government health insurance for the poor," he said.
Therefore, he regretted if there is a hospital that refused to poor patients and asked relevant agencies to conduct surveillance. He also expects all hospitals together with the government to continue to maintain and strengthen its independence in order to become a provider of quality health services that the public interest. "We must give priority to the interests of society, especially poor people's welfare in order to materialize soon," he said.
