Export credit loans 3.18 Billion U.S. Dollars

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Director of Administrative Development Funding Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas Benny Setiawan said the export credit facilities (FKE) in the first quarter of 2010 reached 3.180 billion U.S. dollars.

"The amount of the loan allocated for projects such as the National Electricity Company (PLN) and the purposes of defense and security (Defense)," he said in Jakarta on Thursday.

He said the loan was allocated to 32 projects, including six projects by State and 26 projects under the national defense.

According to him, six projects in progress PLN, has been distributed to business entities (Subsidiary Loan Arrangement / SLA), including projects for improvement of PLN Muara Karang and Suralaya with a total value of 322 million U.S. dollars.

While for Defense and Security sector, FKE loan allocated for the TNI Headquarters, Army, Navy, and Air Force with a different portion.

He added, FKE funding from the loan just China and Japan, and its nature as a commercial loan with higher interest rates than loans from international institutions or international development banks, with a shorter grace period.

Meanwhile, he added, foreign loan projects that are running and monitored its implementation now consists of 174 projects with a value reaching 20.5 billion U.S. dollars.
