Separatist Kurds Kill Three People in Eastern Turkey
Diyarbakir, Turkey (AFP / Reuters) - Kurdish rebels killed two soldiers and a woman in an attack in the province of Elazig, eastern Turkey, Thursday night.
Rebel Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) were also wounded a soldier in the attack.
A group of villagers who were returning home had been shot, and a woman were killed and four others injured.
Military sources said fighting between rebels and soldiers backed by armed helicopters were still ongoing in Elazig.
Unilaterally cancel the PKK ceasefire on June 1, and his fighters killed more than 50 soldiers in the spring.
PKK launched an armed struggle since 1984 to establish an independent state for the tribe of Kurdistan, which comprises 15 percent of Turkey's 72 million population.
The group has since lowered their demands to increase the scale of political rights to citizens of Kurdish.
Turkey has provided an additional political and cultural rights for Turkey's ethnic minorities, in order to stop the conflict.
The changes faced nationalist opposition and suffered a blow when the pro-Kurdish party banned last year because of having links with the PKK.
