Dutch TV Break Attendance Records Most
The Hague - 12.3 million viewers watch television in the Dutch World Cup semi-final game where the Orange team beat Uruguay with a score of 3-2 on Tuesday last. The amount is a record-breaking television audience ever in the Netherlands, the total population of just 16.5 million inhabitants.
Television broadcaster NOS said this Wednesday that 10.6 million people saw the Dutch 3-2 victory over Uruguay through a TV in their homes, while about 1.7 million other people choose to follow the match on giant screens set up in public places throughout country.
The previous record was 11.7 million souls who watched the World Cup in 1998 when the Dutch defeated Brazil in the semifinals.
All the matches involving the Dutch national team is always big event ranked 10th most watched TV in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands will face Spain in the World Cup Final in Johannesburg, where both teams will look for first world title for each country. (AFP)
