North Korea Willing to Negotiate Nuclear Back
Liputan6.com, Seoul: North Korea Saturday (10 / 7) said it was willing to return to nuclear disarmament talks and indicated satisfaction with the UN Security Council statement that Pyongyang was not blaming the sinking of the battleship South Korea.
Last Friday, the UN Security Council condemned the sinking corvette Cheonan South Korea in March that killed 46 sailors, but did not directly accuse North Korea.
Six-nation nuclear talks that involve North Korea, South Korea, the United States, Japan, Russia and China, have been stalled since 2007. Disarmament agreements in 2005 seemed to lose its relevance when Pyongyang's missile firing remote locking and a nuclear weapon.
"DPRK (North Korea) will try to be consistent to sign a peace treaty and denuclearization through the six-nation talks, which were held on common goals," said foreign ministry spokesman of North Korea in a commentary published by the KCNA news agency.
But South Korea and U.S. said North Korea must first be admitted responsibility for the incident Cheonan, before they decided to return to six-nation forum. (Ant / Job)
