KOMPAS.com - Yemen offers itself as a commercial opening the door to Turkey to reach the African market. Saba quoted the note as the Chairman of Turkish-Yemeni Business Council Sadik Yildiz on Friday (07/09/2010) shows that Yemen is an important bridge to Africa.
"Yemen is just 10 miles from Djibouti in Africa. Exporters Turkey could send goods to Africa to use Yemen as a base," Yildiz said.
Yemen itself has indeed already an industrial zone. "This zone can be utilized to enhance business opportunities by Turkey," added Yildiz.
Trade between Turkey and Yemen are in the range of 400 million U.S. dollars. Turkish exports to this country recorded 380 million U.S. dollars. Until late 2012, Yemen set up trade target of one million U.S. dollars.
