Cuba Police Arrest "Mother Dress White"

HAVANA, KOMPAS.com - Cuban police arrested about 30 people who were marching in Havana, Wednesday (17/3/2010), in a protest led by the mother of a political prisoner who died in the hunger strike, the AFP correspondent reported.

Demonstrators belonging to the "Mother Dress White" was booed by hundreds of government supporters as they marched through Havana with her mother from Orlando Zapata, who died while on hunger strike in prison on February 23.

The women members of the police forced the demonstrators were up two buses, which then went to an unknown location.

"Mother Dress White" routinely protest to demand the release of political prisoners in Cuba, the only one-party communist regime in the Americas.
