SAN FRANCISCO, KOMPAS.com - Yahoo buy Citizen Sports gaming site, developed a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This will strengthen Akuisis portal Yahoo services in both the channel information and social networking.

Citizen Sports has been providing virtual league like football and basketball. Users can manage a virtual team to compete with other users. Besides the computer, this service can also be accessed through social networks, as well as iPhone and Android applications.

As reported by AP on Thursday (18/3/2010), the founder of Citizen Sports is Jeff Ma in the year 2004 by holding his business partner Mike Kerns. They manage these services in private and has attracted 39 million unique U.S. visitors per month.

The value of the acquisition should be completed next June 2010. Yahoo only says Citizen Sports will be integrated with sports content and similar services.
