President Obama's Speech at the UI Cancel
Liputan6.com, Jakarta: Rector of the University of Indonesia (UI) Gumilar Rusliwa Soemantri said United States President Barack Obama canceled a speech on the UI campus in Depok, West Java, in the course of his visit to Indonesia in the next 23-25 Maret. "(President) Obama speech not in the UI, but he will make a speech in Kemayoran," said Gumilar the Office of the Vice President, Central Jakarta, Thursday (18 / 3). Gumilar added, the cancellation is likely due to the location of the UI too much, then selected Kemayoran, Jakpus, the larger.
About the theme that will be presented Obama, admitted Gumilar not know for sure. "It would be handed over to him and we do not outline the theme of nothing," explained Gumilar. In Obama's speech in Kemayoran, UI remains involved with the National Resilience Institute and the U.S. Embassy in Indonesia. "It's UI was appointed as one of the organizers along with Lembahas (National Resilience Institute) and the U.S. Embassy," said Gumilar.
He hopes Obama tersebeut activities can provide positive impact to promote Indonesia. "I think it will strengthen the friendship between Indonesia and the U.S., including more deepen mutual understanding, mutual respect," said Gumilar.
